Since 2011, we have been collaborating with the Adams County Farmers Market Association to:

  • Fundraise to double dollars up to $25 for SNAP and S/FMNP users.

  • Promote an Electronic Benefit Machine (EBT) for use at the markets

Here’s how it works:

  • If a family has SNAP, they can swipe their EBT card up to receive $1 tokens worth the value they charged x2! So if I person charges $25 to their card, they get $50 in tokens to spend with any vendor selling food.

  • If someone has Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks (from WIC) or Senior FMNP checks (from the Office for Aging), they spend the check itself with a vendor at the market, and then take the receipt to the market tent to receive tokens matching that amount to then spend on anything else in the market.
